In March of 2015, I had a stroke...a stroke that I believed saved my life. I say this because as a result of the medical work-up performed at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley CA, the medical team identified that I had 3 brain aneurysms. As I had those treated and recovered from my stroke, I reflected on my life and concluded that the challenges I have faced in my life, i.e. Waves, might provide others with knowledge about how deal with adversity.
My intent is to educate you about coping with challenges while also informing you about a variety of topics including coaching, grieving, addiction, loving and authenticity. To do so, I used the wave metaphor with an introductory section that speaks to waves and the ocean from the structure shared in Dr. David Lane's The Yoga of Bodysurfing. The connection between Hatha Yoga and bodysurfing is explained and sets the stage for the telling of my life's story and personal development.
That will get you into the right frame of mind before I jump into Northern California and little Jimmy Hamilton in the early 1960's.
